Rothfuss announced his intention for the Kingkiller Trilogy even before the first novel, The Name of the Wind, was published. In the meantime, fans can reread The Name of the Wind and The Wise Man’s Fear to prepare for the final instalment in the Kingkiller Chronicles. There’s no set release date for The Doors of Stone yet, but Rothfuss says that he’s working hard on finishing the book. If you’re wondering when the chapter will be published, Rothfuss says that he plans on releasing it “soon.” Once Rothfuss amassed $300,000 in donations, he promised to give a full, spoiler-free section of The Doors of Stone once he reached that amount.
During one of Rothfuss’s Twitch live streams for his Worldbuilders charity, fans earned the right to read the chapter.
